Zero Tone is a collaborative project between producers primarily centered in the Pacific Northwest of North America. Known by no other name and shunning the ego trappings of self-identification, Zero Tone's creative genius is focused on the product and not the face behind the product. Taking an austere and conceptual approach to the production aesthetic- Zero Tone's "Echo Chamber", their debut release on From 0-1, displays this methodology through their intricate attention to thematic underplay present within each track.

This release will become available November 18, 2009; on Beatport and JunoDownload!

From 0-1 Studio Session Vol. 016 - Michito Iwata

Dr. Mr. M, a.k.a. M'Chateau, a.k.a. Michito Iwata, is a Seattle destroyer of
dance floors who holds himself to an epitome of excellence and is an icon in
the city's vibrant electronic music scene to say the least. A member of
Seattle’s Fourthcity collective, he is a leading force in the local
Micro-Rave movement, spearheading sick parties and throwing dirty beats down
on the decks for around half a decade. Mr. Iwata's style is stirred with
allegiance for Detroit and Germany as well as an unconditional love for
Latin and Brazilian music, and his sets will please even the most jaded
electro-naut. Michito is the co-founder of the Knight Riders series and is
the brains behind Fourthcity's 2008 Eastern European expansionisms. He was
voted most likely to change the lives of millions in his sophomore year of
high school, and can often be found walking his puppy in Seattle while
surrounded by his personal security force, the Capitol Hill Cobras.

James is a 13 year veteran of the wheels of steel and you can see him DJing all over Seattle and beyond on a regular basis. He began his career as a Hip-hop / Breaks DJ, then moved into Chicago Hard House, and over the last few years has settled in as a Techno DJ. His sound is big and built for the dance floor. Happy Solstice everyone!  We decided to keep it in house this time with Brian (Sone) do up a great mix of techno for your summertime ears.  This is quite honestly, a bangin' mix of some great techno tunes including three cuts from a variety of our own releases; one being a Bryan Zentz remix of m.0's "Supermental" that is, well... super f*ckin' crazy.  :)  That remix is one of five on our "Solstice Realignments EP"  which in fact is being released today, on the longest day of summer.  You can pick up copies at Juno Download and on DbTrx as well.  You can periodically check out our Soundcloud site to get full track previews which we will be uploading one at a time this week! From 0-1 presents: "The Black White Vol. 02" a follow-up compilation to Vol. 01 released in September 2008.  The Black White Vol. 02 is an expose of talented producers predominantly located in the Pacific Northwest.  Drawing from a strong burgeoning talent pool, From 0-1 flexes some serious techno muscle with tracks from Let's Go Outside, Milkplant, Sone, Nerd Revolt, Revy, The Automatic Message, and others.  Sculpted as one might craft a DJ set, The Black White Vol. 02 builds, culminates, and breaks in the style of a sweaty techno dance floor; starting deep, getting mental, blowing up, then simmering down.  From 0-1's motto- "the space between" is clearly evident in the effort to offer up a collection of tracks one might very well be able to play in a DJ set with fluidity, while simultaneously recognizing the need to exhibit an artistically and thoughtfully prepared album of quality music from connected producers in the US, Canada, and Europe.
