The Automatic Message

The Automatic Message is an ongoing audiovisual project between Trevor Jacobson (techno producer) and Tanya Goehring (photographer/non-linear filmmaker). Mixing photography, film and sound together, they create slightly off-kilter techno and perform live audiovisual sets. With releases out on the Seattle label From 0-1 and the Montreal label Monsieur Musique, The Automatic Message is proving to be a new act to watch. Their first release on From 0-1 – “Moving Walkway” – hit #3 on Speedy J’s Electric Deluxe, Juno and Resident Advisor summer 2009 charts.


Matt Yurek

Growing up in Harper Woods, just outside of Detroit, and several years after what many consider to be the glory years of the Detroit electronic scene, Matt Yurek wasn't exposed to quality electronic music at an early age like a lot of his peers. Although, some say that has kept him objective in his opinions and his tastes. Matt helped hone his style spending many hours every year taking aural pointers from artists and djs at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival, friend's basements, and parties around the city. With a keen ear and a unique outlook, Matt's roots in dance music are only growing deeper. Settling at least temporarily on his own versatile brand of tech-house, Matt's sets are sure to bring smiles to faces and feet to dance floors
